Your BridgePath client portal NewOptional · secure · read by Lori before your sessions
The portal is an optional part of your therapy. You do not need to use it to be a client, and choosing not to use it will not change your care in any way. Lori emails your invitation link from her BridgePath address, and the first time you sign in you'll read and sign a short portal consent, and then sign this Welcome Packet's two acknowledgments (sections 14 and 17).
What you can do there
- Fill in your diary card
- Keep a journal: each entry is Just for me or Share with Lori
- Book, move and cancel sessions
- Read, add to and sign your treatment plan
- Complete questionnaires and see your scores over time
- Complete plan reviews and see your maintenance plan
How it's protected
The portal runs on Google Cloud in the United States under a Business Associate Agreement. Signing in needs your password and a six-digit code from your phone. You're signed out after 15 minutes without activity. Lori's session notes, diagnoses and billing records are not shown in the portal; you can still ask for a copy of your records, as described in the Notice of Privacy Practices. The portal is for clients aged 18 and over.
Telehealth & online session consent
Telehealth uses secure video and audio technology for long-distance sessions. BPC conducts all online and teletherapy sessions over HIPAA-compliant Zoom (the paid version, covered by a Business Associate Agreement). Billing is handled through Headway for clients using insurance, and through Lyra for clients using employer-sponsored Lyra sessions (including those who later convert to insurance).
▶ Join your secure session (Zoom)HIPAA-compliant · us02web.zoom.us ↗Informed consent for telemental health
Telemental health is completely voluntary and you may withdraw consent at any time. Sessions will not be recorded or photographed without permission from all parties, and you agree not to record any portion of sessions. The same privacy and confidentiality laws that protect in-person care apply to telehealth. No internet-based communication is 100% guaranteed secure; you agree the practice is not responsible if an outside party bypasses the system's security. If the video connection drops, you'll have a backup phone line or a pre-arranged plan to reconnect.
The Cancellation & No-Show Policy applies to telehealth sessions, and you should give at least 24 hours' notice if you need to cancel. A form of payment is established before the first session, unless your sessions are covered by Lyra Health. Telehealth over cellular service may incur data charges — connect to Wi-Fi to avoid them.
You must be physically within WA, ID, or UT at the time of your telehealth appointment, or you'll need to reschedule.
Confidentiality of email & text
Email and text messages are not guaranteed confidential. If you choose to email or text, please limit content to scheduling (such as a cancellation or change of time). Electronic communication is not monitored outside office hours and there is no expectation of an immediate response.
BridgePath's email (Lori.Obbie@bridgepathcounseling.com) and BridgePath's text line (Google Voice) are covered by a HIPAA Business Associate Agreement with Google. That protection applies on BridgePath's side only. On your side, a text passes through your phone carrier and an email through your email provider, and both stay on your phone or computer, where other people may be able to see them. These channels can also fail, be hacked, or be lost. Please don't send health information by ordinary email or text.
For ethical reasons, Lori does not accept invitations from current or former clients on social networking sites (LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook).
Risks & benefits of therapy
Therapy can bring real benefits — improved relationships and resolution of the concerns that brought you in — but it requires your active involvement, honesty, and openness. Remembering or talking about difficult events can bring up strong feelings such as anger, sadness, worry, or fear, and may surface anxiety, depression, or insomnia. Your counselor may challenge some assumptions or offer different ways of looking at things, which can feel upsetting at times. Change is sometimes swift but often slow and even frustrating, and there is no guarantee therapy will produce intended results. Decisions about behavior, relationships, employment, or other areas may shift in ways not originally intended.
You have the right to refuse treatment and to choose a practitioner and modality that best suits your needs. You may end therapy at any time, for any reason or none. You may request in writing that no records be kept, except those required by law.
Client bill of rights
- To expect that your provider has met the training and experience required by state law.
- To examine public records and have the Board confirm credentials.
- To obtain a copy of the Code of Ethics (links below).
- To report complaints to the Board.
- To be informed of the cost of services before receiving them.
- To privacy and confidentiality as defined by law, with the exceptions described in the Notice of Privacy Practices, such as reporting suspected abuse, preventing a serious and imminent threat to safety, and responding to a court order.
- To be free from discrimination on any basis listed in the Code of Ethics.
Termination of services
You may end therapy at any time and request a referral. Stopping early may worsen your initial concerns. If there has been no session or contact for 30 days (about four weeks), no future session is scheduled, and we haven't agreed otherwise, your file will be closed. You'll get a reminder before that happens, and a closed file doesn't close the door: you're welcome to reach out anytime to start again. Your counselor may also terminate the relationship if another professional's specialized expertise is in your best interest, if the counselor feels threatened or is treated abusively, if you repeatedly violate boundaries, or for non-payment.
Notice of Privacy Practices UpdatedEffective November 1, 2026 · HIPAA and your rights
This notice describes how medical information about you may be used and disclosed and how you can get access to this information. Please review it carefully. The key points are below; the full notice follows.
Read the full Notice of Privacy Practices
BridgePath Counseling · Lori Chambers Obbie, MA, LMHC
19 S Vernon Avenue, #705, Deer Park, WA 99006 · 509-505-0655
Effective date: November 1, 2026
1. My commitment to your privacy
Health information about you and your care is personal, and I am committed to protecting it. I keep a record of the care I provide you. I need this record to give you good care and to meet legal requirements. This Notice applies to all the records of your care at BridgePath Counseling.
The law requires me to:
- keep your protected health information (PHI) private
- give you this Notice of my legal duties and privacy practices
- follow the Notice currently in effect
- tell you promptly if a breach occurs that may have compromised the privacy or security of your information
I may change this Notice. Any change applies to all information I hold about you. The current Notice is available on request, in my office, in the client portal and on my website.
Washington State notice: I keep a record of the health care services I provide you. You may ask me to see and copy that record. You may also ask me to correct that record. I will not disclose your record to others unless you direct me to do so, or unless the law authorizes or compels me to do so.
2. How I may use and share your information for treatment, payment and health care operations
The law allows me to use and share your information for these purposes without your written authorization.
- Treatment. Providing and coordinating your care. Example: consulting another licensed clinician about how best to help you, or coordinating with your prescriber when you have asked me to. Sharing for treatment is not limited to the minimum necessary, because good care can depend on the full picture.
- Payment. Getting paid for your care. Example: sending your diagnosis and dates of service to your health plan, or to Headway or Lyra Health, which bill on my behalf.
- Health care operations. Running the practice well. Example: keeping your records in a secure electronic records system, reviewing my own work for quality, or meeting licensing requirements.
Business associates. Some services are provided for me by companies such as the Google Cloud service that hosts my records system and client portal. Each signs a Business Associate Agreement that requires them to protect your information, and they may use it only to do the work I have asked of them.
AI help with record-keeping. My records system includes an artificial intelligence (AI) tool that can help me draft parts of my notes and treatment plans, for example turning my brief notes into full sentences. The tool runs inside BridgePath Counseling's own Google Cloud account, under a business associate agreement that requires Google to protect your information. Google's terms do not allow your information to be used to train its AI. I read, correct and approve everything before it becomes part of your record, and the AI never makes decisions about your care. Please ask me if you have questions about this.
Client portal. If you use the BridgePath client portal, what you share there becomes part of your record and is protected in the same way. The portal consent explains how it works.
Appointment contact. I may use your information to contact you about appointments, in the way you have asked me to.
3. Uses and disclosures that need your written authorization
- Psychotherapy notes. I do not keep psychotherapy notes separate from your record. Everything I write about your care is part of your record and is covered by this Notice.
- Marketing. I will not use or share your information for marketing.
- Sale. I will not sell your information.
- Research. I will not use or share your information for research without your written authorization.
- Anything else not described in this Notice needs your written authorization.
You may revoke an authorization at any time by telling me in writing. The revocation does not undo anything I did in reliance on the authorization before I received it.
4. Uses and disclosures the law allows without your authorization
Within the limits the law sets, I may use or share your information without your authorization:
- When a state or federal law requires it, limited to what that law requires.
- To report suspected abuse, neglect or exploitation of a child or of a vulnerable adult, as Washington law requires.
- To prevent or lessen a serious and imminent threat to the health or safety of you, another person or the public, including when Washington law requires me to warn or protect someone you have threatened.
- For health oversight, such as audits, investigations and licensing reviews.
- For judicial and administrative proceedings, such as a court order. My preference is to get your authorization first, and for a subpoena I will make efforts to tell you about the request so you can object.
- For certain law enforcement purposes allowed by law.
- To a coroner or medical examiner performing duties authorized by law.
- For specialized government functions, such as military or national security purposes allowed by law.
- For workers' compensation, as that law requires. My preference is to get your authorization first.
Lawsuits and disputes. If you are involved in a lawsuit, I may disclose information in response to a court or administrative order. I may also disclose it in response to a subpoena, discovery request or other lawful process, but only if efforts have been made to tell you about the request or to obtain an order protecting the information.
Substance use disorder records. If I receive records of substance use disorder treatment protected by federal law (42 CFR Part 2), those records, or testimony about them, will not be used or shared in a civil, criminal, administrative or legislative proceeding against you unless you give written consent or a court issues an order that meets that law's requirements.
Information shared under this Notice may be shared again by the person who receives it, and may then no longer be protected by federal privacy law.
5. Uses and disclosures you may object to
Family, friends and others involved in your care. I may share information with someone you tell me is involved in your care or in paying for it, unless you object in whole or in part. In an emergency, I may do this and ask for your agreement afterwards.
6. Your rights
- To ask me to limit how I use or share your information for treatment, payment or operations. I am not required to agree, and I may say no if I believe it would affect your care.
- To limit what your health plan is told about a service you paid for in full yourself. I will agree to this request unless the law requires me to share the information.
- To choose how I contact you, for example a particular phone number or address. I will agree to all reasonable requests.
- To see and get a copy of your record, on paper or electronically. I will respond within 30 days of your written request, or sooner if Washington law requires. I may charge a reasonable, cost-based fee. I may offer a summary instead if you agree.
- To a list of disclosures I have made for purposes other than treatment, payment, operations, or those you authorized, for up to six years back. I will respond within 60 days. The first list in any 12 months is free; later ones may have a reasonable, cost-based fee.
- To ask me to correct or add to your record. I may say no, but I will tell you why in writing within 60 days.
- To a paper or electronic copy of this Notice, even if you have already received it electronically.
- To choose someone to act for you. If you have given someone medical power of attorney, or someone is your legal guardian, that person can exercise your rights. I will check they have this authority before I act.
7. Complaints
If you believe your privacy rights have been violated, you may complain to me using the contact details below, and to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Office for Civil Rights, at www.hhs.gov/ocr/complaints or 1-800-368-1019. I will not retaliate against you in any way for filing a complaint.

Lori may consult with colleagues or a DBT consultation group to maintain high practice standards, as part of your treatment and the practice's operations.
Billing, fees & appointments
It is your responsibility to find out whether your insurance will reimburse you for services. You'll be asked for a credit card or other form of payment during your first session, and a card is kept on file for balances past 30 days.
These are self-pay fees. If your sessions are billed through Headway or Lyra Health, what you pay is set by your plan; check with them about your copay or coverage.
| Intake | $300 |
| Individual therapy (53–60 min) | $200 |
| Individual therapy (45 min) | $150 |
| Individual therapy (30 min, established clients if clinically indicated) | $100 |
| Group therapy | $50 or co-pay |
| Paperwork | $25 / 15 min |
| Court appearance & preparation | $2,000 daily |
| Returned check / chargeback fee | $30 |
No refunds are provided for services rendered. Fees are subject to change with 30 days' written notice.
Late cancellations or no-shows Updated
- 24 hours' noticeCancel or move by phone, voicemail, email or the client portal.
- One slip is OKA single late cancellation or no-show usually does not lead to a fee.
- We talk firstIf a pattern develops, Lori reaches out so you can problem-solve together.
- No surprisesAny graduated fee is explained to you before it is charged.
Please give at least 24 hours' notice to reschedule or cancel. A late cancellation is less than 24 hours' notice; a no-show is missing a session without letting me know.
My approach is supportive, not punitive. A single late cancellation or no-show usually does not lead to a fee. If a pattern develops, I will reach out so we can talk about what is getting in the way and problem-solve together. If the pattern continues, fees may be applied on a graduated basis, which I will explain to you before any charge is made. If your sessions are covered by Lyra Health, a late cancellation or no-show uses one of your covered sessions instead of a fee.
All fees are subject to therapist's discretion. See the Cancellation & No-Show Policy for details.
Late to appointments
Your counselor will wait 10 minutes from the start time before ending a scheduled appointment.
Balances
A balance of $200 or more must be settled — or a payment plan agreed upon with your therapist — before additional appointments can be scheduled; already-scheduled appointments may be canceled until the balance is under $200 or a plan is in place.
Good Faith Estimate No Surprises Act
Under the No Surprises Act (effective Jan 1, 2022), you are entitled to a Good Faith Estimate (GFE) of expected costs if you are uninsured or not using insurance. Because the number of sessions can't be known in advance, the GFE is an estimate, not a contract, and does not obligate you to obtain services. The fee for a 53–60 minute session (in person or telehealth) is $200; most clients attend once weekly, though frequency depends on your needs. You can project potential cost by multiplying the session fee by the number of sessions (e.g., $200 × 4 = $800). You may request a new GFE in writing at any time.

No-recording policy
Washington is a two-party consent state — all parties must consent before a private conversation (in person, by phone, or telehealth) is recorded. Recording a session without mutual consent may be illegal.
All therapy sessions and communications are strictly confidential. Clients are not permitted to record sessions by any means without prior written consent from your therapist, including audio/video recording, screen recording or screenshots during telehealth, or AI-generated or automated recordings (virtual assistants, transcription software). This applies to all formats and devices. If a recording is discovered, services may be terminated immediately and legal action considered.
To protect your confidentiality: turn off AI assistants (Siri, Google Assistant, Alexa) during sessions, do not use third-party transcription apps, and make sure your devices are not set to automatically record or store conversations.
Privacy & security policies (AI & PHI) Please read, then sign below
Purpose of this form
In response to growing concerns around artificial intelligence (AI) and the security of Protected Health Information (PHI), BridgePath Counseling has updated its communication and privacy policies. This form confirms that you have been informed of these policies and agree to abide by them.
Secure communication
To protect the privacy and security of your health information, please use a secure portal rather than ordinary email or text for anything about your care:
- BridgePath client portal — diary cards, journal entries you share, booking and cancelling, your treatment plan and questionnaires.
- Headway (insurance clients) or Lyra (Lyra clients) — billing, insurance and anything those services handle.
Email and text messaging do not offer the same level of security, so please keep them to scheduling. See the No-recording policy above, which is part of this form.
Washington health privacy
Washington's My Health My Data Act protects health information that falls outside federal HIPAA rules. Your therapy record at BridgePath Counseling is protected by HIPAA, as described in the Notice of Privacy Practices. If you share health information with BridgePath outside your therapy record, for example in a message before your first session, I use it only to respond to you and arrange your care. I never sell it or share it for advertising, and you may ask me to see or delete it.
Questions & contact
If you have any questions or concerns about these policies, please ask Lori at your next session, or email Lori.Obbie@bridgepathcounseling.com. She is happy to discuss any part of them with you.
Client acknowledgment & signature
I acknowledge that I have received, read, and understood the privacy and security policies of BridgePath Counseling as described above. I agree to use a secure portal (the BridgePath client portal, Headway or Lyra) rather than ordinary email or text for anything about my care, and I understand and agree to the No-Recording Policy. I consent to BridgePath Counseling collecting and using my health information as described in the Welcome Packet and the Notice of Privacy Practices, including AI help with record-keeping.
